North London & Eastern Area Motor Caravan Section
Yesterday 23rd April the NL&EA held it's AGM at Acton, Suffolk at 16:00.

Unfortunately there was only one nomination so it was not possible to form a new committee. Consequently at 16:25 Martin Whitaker, vice chair of MCS , formally closed the meeting and the area ceased to exist.

Our minutes secretary, Diane, is producing a record of the meeting and this will, in due course, be sent to MCS secretary Kathy Giles. If anyone requires to see a copy of these minutes please contact Kathy at kathygiles@mac.com. Copies of the final reports to AGM are still available on the website http://www.nleamcs.org.uk/agm and will remain there until the website is closed in the near future.

In my time over the last 5 years as PRO of NL&EA I have been obliged to write the obituaries of too many of our members but I never expected to write the obituary of the NL&EA itself. The group formed over 40 years ago in 1975 and swelled to include around 900 members, but in recent years the participating membership has declined to the extent that we are no longer able to keep it going and this is the end for us.
On behalf of the final committee I would like to thank all the members who have supported us over the years and to wish you all well in the future. Perhaps we may meet again on a field somewhere but It will no longer be under the NL&EA banner.

I would like to assure you that all e-mail addresses held by me on behalf of NL&EA will now be destroyed.
