From A6 take A507 passing Ampthill signs until you pass one for the Ampthill Industrial Estate (5th roundabout).
Continue to the next right turn to Ampthill.
You will then have Ampthill Park on your left
DO NOT to let your sat nav bring you through the centre of Ampthill but to stick to the bypass.  The town centre has some narrow roads and tight turns.

There is a lot to do in the area.
Buses will take you into Bedford from the centre of Ampthill about 1/2 mile down the footpath, or through the park.  There is a caravan shop on the industrial estate.  Ampthill Park is just across the road, with views for miles.  To the back of the site is The Firs and Coopers Hill, a nature reserve.  You can cycle mainly on cycle paths or quiet roads to Marston Vale Forest Park, where we have our winter walk.  The ruins of Houghton House are within walking distance (for the fit) sitting on top of the hill.  Ampthill is a Georgian market town where all the town centre buildings have a preservation order on them. .The Greensand Ridge Walk - a long distance walk - runs through the park.  Two rail stations are close by going to different areas.  There is a Waitrose food store in the town centre and Tesco about 2 miles away.

Also within easy driving distance are:- Woburn Abbey and Safari Park, Shuttleworth Air Museum, Duxford, Wrest Park (English Heritage)
You will find that a weekend is not long enough to explore the area.
